Dr. Nirmal brings over 30 years of experience in Nepal’s agriculture and livestock sector. A gold medalist in Meat Technology, he began his career as a Veterinary Officer in 1993 and has since led numerous national and donor-funded projects (ADB, WB, FAO, USAID, EU). He has served as Program Director, Project Director (HIMALI), and Director General at the Department of Livestock Services, leading initiatives in value chain development, agribusiness promotion, genetic improvement, climate-resilient livestock systems, and commercialization of farming. He also held key leadership roles, including National OIE Delegate, Chair of the Dairy Development Corporation, and Provincial Secretary in Provinces 1 and Madhesh. His work has strengthened partnerships with private sectors, cooperatives, and farmers across Nepal.
